Peter Seikel’s affinity for cars and engines is in his blood. His father, Josef Berthold Seikel, started a small business which primarily dedicated itself to the sale and repair of NSU motorcycles. As the business grew, passenger car manufacturers Volkswagen and Audi were added to his business enterprise. Auto Seikel developed into a considerable and well-recognizable benefit to Volkswagen and Audi vehicles.

At the tender age of 19-year Peter Seikel entered a prestigious and highly recognizable program for Mercedes. With the desire to be technically polished and the desire to open doors for himself, Peter Seikel fledged forward to expand his business, while also racing, which molded him and his work spectrum in various ways. All along there was also a demand for innovative thinking, mobility, speed and organizational ability. These demands became the traits with which Peter Seikel would welcome as permanent characteristics of his personality, his business, his business development and his organization as a whole.

At the age of 23 and his master examination successfully completed, Peter Seikel drove a NSU at slalom and circuit-races on the Nürburgring. Soon thereafter he ventured into the international arena for Motorsport – in 1980 Peter Seikel won the touring car championship for Audi and over the years took part in the Dakar Rally twice. Throughout the years he has taken his team 14-times to the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans with Porsche and took a class victory in 2001.

With his own business on the overtaking line came many other international races and rallies in such destinations as Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt where Peter Seikel collected experiences that he directly implemented into the development of new vehicle-concepts and into the optimization of standard delivered vehicles. Peter Seikel’s experience and intuitive nature took Auto Seikel quickly from the normal VW and Audi dealership into the internationally recognized niche business market for off-road developments and Motorsport.

Concentrating on specific Volkswagen models or utility vehicles, Peter Seikel’s career accelerated into its own specialized market. Developments from Auto Seikel flourished with the Volkswagen LT 4X4, the T3 Syncro 16 for Raid Rallies (since 1988), the sale of suspensions for the T3 and the development and sale of the Volkswagen T4 Syncro suspension, which was then been fitted in 2001 into 48-cars for the police in Kabul, Afghanistan.

Since 2003 Peter Seikel has been an active official supplier to Volkswagen. Auto Seikel prides itself with its focus on design and development of the off-road suspensions, axle ratios and various chassis protections for the Volkswagen T5 4-motion.

With the development of suspension kits for the Volkswagen series of vehicles taking them from “normal” street-vehicles to fantastic rough-terrain-ready vehicles without ever losing their everyday efficiency, a Seikel modified car encompasses the newest in global technological advances with the “Seikel T5 Extreme”, guaranteeing a hardcore off-road experience that amongst a multitude of accomplishments includes 100% traction at 45 degrees!
