Now available: protection plate for the Volkswagen Transporter T4
As we also love the classic Volkswagen Bullis, we have put our off-road expertise into the development of an engine protection plate with all modern SEIKEL standards. After all, the Volkswagen T4 is once again a highly popular vehicle among enthusiasts. Its robustness, the (still) affordable used-vehicle prices and the availability of parts have made it an indestructible success model.
From 1990 to 2003, around 1.873 million T4s rolled off the production line at the Hanover plant – some of them as Caravelle, Multivan or California for leisure and family use. From the mid-nineties, these versions received a major product upgrade, which included an 8 cm longer front section of the T4.

Our new SEIKEL T4 engine protection plate for vehicles with a long front carriage incorporates the knowledge and expertise gained from more than 25 years of developing off-road components for Volkswagen commercial vehicles.
Whether as a syncro with four-wheel drive or only with front axle drive – the VW T4 is very robust and can be driven in rough or impassable areas. To prevent the oil pan, engine or gearbox from being damaged from below or loose branches or roots from getting caught in the units, the SEIKEL protection plate made of solid 5 mm aluminum shields the front area extensively from below. This protective plate is a smart investment, especially when traveling off paved roads.
If you also want more clearance under the floor unit, you can use our suspension lift kit with different shock absorbers, springs and spacers. This also makes it possible to convert to larger off-road tires, which provides even more ground clearance and a more harmonious overall appearance.
